  3. After all the years, this is still my favorite thing on the Internet, ever: MNFTIU.

Waste some more time with GQ’s 100 funniest things on the internet (including Get Your War On, another clip-art comic from the dude behind MNFTIU, at #2).

  10. From hernameisbanks herself, here is BANKS x The Weeknd (“What You Need” cover). She will blow up in 2014. I hope I didn’t miss my chance to see here in a small venue in L.A. Everyone seems to love “This Is What it Feels Like” but I can’t get enough of “Waiting Game.”

  12. Arctic Monkeys - “Arabella”

While initial hits “Do I Wanna Know?” (on my short list for best songs of the year) and “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?” got most of the press for this album, don’t sleep on “Arabella.” Built on top of solid drum and basslines, this track opens up into a Zeppelin-esque banger at 0:45 and hits full Black Keys status at 3:00.

I’d venture out on a limb and call the Arctic Monkey’s one of the most underappreciated U.K. bands in the U.S., mainly because I don’t know anyone else who listens to them. But Alex Turner and crew continue to crank out solid albums—and their older albums sound just as good today as they did five or eight years ago.

  15. London Grammar - “Wasting My Young Years”

Sparse piano- and guitar-driven pop music that echoes James Blake, Radiohead, and the xx. The debut album starts with “Hey Now,” which slowly builds into a hypnotic groove. “Wasting My Early Years” takes even longer to build to its climax (if it ever comes). An amazing debut from a band that was the odds-on favorite to win the U.K.’s Mercury Prize before being snubbed when the final list was released. But they are on my short list right now.
